Get behind the controls with a certified instructor on your first day. Discovery flights are 1-hour experiences designed to give you a hands-on taste of flight.

Private Pilot License (PPL)

Private Pilot training is your first major step toward becoming a licensed pilot. With this license, you can fly single-engine aircraft for personal or recreational use, carry passengers, and explore the skies on your own terms.

I offer one-on-one, customizable training programs designed to help you build skills, confidence, and pass your FAA checkride — whether you're brand new or returning to aviation.

Advanced Training

Take your flying to the next level with personalized instruction for advanced ratings:

  • Instrument Rating – Learn to fly in the clouds, navigate complex airspace, and operate safely in low-visibility conditions. Ideal for pilots looking to expand their skillset or pursue professional aviation.

  • Commercial Pilot Training – Get paid to fly. This program prepares you for the next step in your aviation journey with professional-level maneuvers, cross-country experience, and checkride readiness.

Meet Zack

Hi, I'm Zack Baz — a certified flight instructor (CFI/CFII) based in beautiful San Diego. Flight instructing is more than just a job for me — it's my passion. I love helping people chase their dreams in aviation and take real pride in building confident, capable pilots.

When I’m not flying, you’ll find me surfing, skiing, or enjoying time outside. I believe flying should be as fun as it is challenging, and I bring that mindset into every lesson. I’ve flown tailwheel aircraft, have experience with backcountry strips, and enjoy exploring the adventurous side of aviation as much as I enjoy helping students master the fundamentals.
